Love our Neighbors
Be the Light, Be the Salt
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19
Jesus traveled all over cities and villages and saw many who were poor in spirit and in flesh. He not only stopped to serve them, he also encouraged his disciples to work with him. He said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” This is the Lord’s greatest commandment: we ought to love God and love people. The brothers and sisters at GCAC, under the guidance of our pastoral staff, are committed to following Jesus’ footsteps and example to walk out of our church walls and into our community to serve the new immigrants in need.
For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14
